"The tragedy of the Holocaust often risks leaving behind the other serious persecutions that have struck Italian Jews from 1938 to 1945. The racial laws, preceded by a subtle census that was in fact a real filing and anticipated by a violent anti-Semitic campaign, excluding Jews from school, from the world of work, from civil life.
Since 1938, over 400 measures of increasing gravity: in the end, the Israelites could not own my home, a business, a job, not even objects. A systematic and minute dispossession, confiscation equivalent to over 150 million euros today.
The archives reveal the events of this great raid, and often unknown stories of life and, unfortunately, even of death.
Our country has only investigated them since 1998, setting up a Commission chaired by Tina Anselmi.
With a capillary search between the data and the annexes to the Anselmi Report and in numerous archives, in the eightieth anniversary of the most important of the racial laws that were the antechamber of the Shoah, Fabio Isman tells stories often ignored or too little explored" Hoepli
